I have tried to keep my project/design as closely related to the ideas hidden in the painting as possible. Based on the painting, i have chosen 'sea' as my site. If you look at the painting that i have chosen for this project, you can see one section of the room, with the view of the sea through open door. From this, i have decided to create a structure, which can only be found near water/sea - LAKE HOUSE !!
The final design of the lake house possesses some charateristics of the sea. As the sea is associated with the idea of endless, limitless, and boundless, I have made the lake house, which is expanding/spreading towards the end of the building.
The balcony ares on both first and second floor is used as fishing site for the owner. He uses first floor balcony area for daytime fishing as he spends most of the daytime on first floor. And second floor balcony area for night-time fishing due to the fact that his bedroom is located on second floor.
The narrow openings on the eastern facade of the lake house let the light shine inside the area, to create a dynamic light effect in the morning. The large openings on the northern facade keep the whole area bright through the daytime. The use of openings and doors in this building plays a vital role for light effects to achieve the purpose of the design.
